Where the dates come from

Every date, price cap, and item rule on this site is checked by hand against the state's own source — the comptroller, department of revenue, or taxation page that announces the holiday. Each page names its source and links it, and shows the date we last checked. When a state hasn't posted next year's dates, we say so instead of guessing.

What this site is (and isn't)

TaxFreeDates is shopping guidance: when the window runs, what's under the cap, and whether your online order counts. It is not tax advice — if you're a retailer, or you've got a genuinely weird edge case, go by the official publication linked on the state's page.
